Everything began more or less 40 years ago from the creative genius of Gianmaria Buccellati, second generation of the Buccellati family. Inspired by the blossoming femininity and simple elegance of his youngest daughter Maria Cristina, he explored his feelings and followed their flow to achieve the some truly heart-felt and sought-after jewellery pieces. He wanted to create a jewel containing all the iconic characteristics of Buccellati jewelry, with emphasis on the engraving techniques, and so he conceived a cuff bracelet as silky as a precious fabric, with bezels as structured as micro-sculptures, with an essential, yet unique and timeless design. The Macri Classica line reproduces the very first design, which was very minimalist: no curves, no convexities, no rosettes. Just a gold band dotted with diamonds where the precious “rigato” and “ornato” hand-engravings took over. The step forward of the very first design was what simply call Macri; Gianmaria Buccellati developed a richer design, embellished with bombé elements,
leaf-modeled rosettes and shiny beads, thus obtaining jewels that contained all the signature goldsmithing techniques used by the artisans of the Maison.
