The Middle East Watch & Jewellery of the Year Awards 2021

An elegant atmosphere filled with dazzling experiences as we return to live events

Attracting the world’s top watchmakers, jewellers and their representatives in Dubai, along with enthusiasts and collectors, the “Middle East Watch & Jewellery of the Year Awards 2021” event was exceptionally organized by AWJ and MPP-ME for the 17th year in a row.

The ceremony was held at the Music Hall in the Jumeirah Zabeel Saray Hotel, recognizing global brands in their contribution to Dubai and the Middle East’s status as a leading market for luxury watches and jewellery. A luxurious feel dominated the iconic auditorium, one of the most popular destinations for international musicians and artists in Dubai, with an interior decor reminiscent of the Renaissance in Europe. A perfect setting built around the theme of back to the dazzling reality, as we return to live events with a bang.

Sponsored by Bentley Motors, the event was attended by nearly 200 leading brand representatives, retailers, industry leaders and elite watch collectors and enthusiasts in the Middle East and from around the world. An integrated production team successfully managed the award ceremony, capturing ever-lasting moments and celebrations.

Mr. Nader Freiha, Managing Director of MPP-ME, welcomed the guests and emphasized the commitment of the company that launched this initiative 17 years ago and which has gained international recognition.

The award show, which enjoys credibility and global status, was first launched in the Kingdom of Bahrain in 2005. The awards are presented in accordance to specific categories fitting of the watch and jewellery industry and are judged by an independent board of committee members.

This year new names have joined the jury specialized in the field of watches and jewellery, mainly consisting of watch collectors and jewellery designers. This helped add an extra layer of impartiality and transparency to the evaluation process for the competing nominees.

The annual award ceremony plays an important role in shedding light on the evolution of the fine mechanical watches and jewellery markets in the Middle East, particularly in the UAE. Over the past decade or so, it has transformed into a much-anticipated event for retailers, jewellers and watch makers, celebrating unique craftsmanship and the accomplishments of regional brands.
