PHENOMEN, a new French haute horlogerie brand announced this month the delivery of the very first production pieces of its ultimate driver's watch, the AXIOM. After two years of R & D, the founding duo of PHENOMEN, Alexandre Meyer and Sylvain Nourisson gave birth to an exceptional timepiece.
AXIOM has an exceptional patrimony as it pays homage to the driver's watch, those pilot watches whose inclined display makes it possible to read the time while driving. But much more than this specific architecture, AXIOM is imprinted with curves and car surfaces, it is designed like a moving sculpture, and its silhouette evokes a rich automotive heritage, unexpected in the world of watchmaking. Beyond this stylistic specificity, AXIOM is an object of pleasure and its controlled dimensions gives it an absolutely new ergonomy for a concept watch.
As a supercar would be nothing without a suitable engine, AXIOM exists thanks to the mechanical engineering that beats within it. The manufacture movement PH-010 that takes place inside is full of innovations. The time display uses 3D hands: retrograde minutes and jumping and retrograde hours. The final jump of the two retrogrades is mechanically synchronized for an absolutely magical visual effect. The architecture of the movement with its reversed escapement mounting is intrinsically linked to the style of the piece. Finally, its huge power reserve, more than 100 hours, is the result of double barrels in series that just manage to fit in the titanium case.
The finishes of the movement's parts as well as the case make Axiom a piece of contemporary haute horlogerie, reflecting the French creativity and daringness that are truly appreciated by avant-garde customers.
PHENOMEN, a new French brand, has established its quarters in Besançon, the French capital of watchmaking. 100% of development and assembly is done within the factory. The production of components is outsourced, according to its own design, to the best partners. PHENOMEN has an internal control laboratory and a prototyping department to test its own technical solutions. PHENOMEN watches are guaranteed 3 + 2 years.
