For the 8th year in a row, Rado received a prestigious GOOD DESIGN Award from The Chicago Athenaeum Museum of Architecture and Design. This year’s prize was awarded for the HyperChrome Ultra Light, a new product in the 2018 collection that was created with lightness in mind. It was made using Rado’s innovative ultra-light high-tech ceramic (Si3N4), which is half the weight of standard Rado high-tech ceramic but even harder and more scratch-resistant.
The super modern materials and Rado’s signature monobloc case construction contrast strongly but impressively with the dial design. Taking its inspiration from 20th Century pocket watches, the understated simplicity and unparallelled legibility of the sunray high-tech ceramic dial gives the watch a classic appearance.
