Seiko Corp celebrated its 140th anniversary with multiple commemorative timepieces

In 2020, Grand Seiko celebrated the 60th anniversary of its foundation. This year, the entire Seiko Corp, founded in 1881 by Kintaro Hattori, celebrated its 140th anniversary in a style and with further emphasis and commitment to promote the Japanese Watch culture globally. During the two days online summit, Seiko revealed multiple commemorative watches in celebration of the brand’s founder. Among these novelties to be available in the Middle East markets are: 

1.    A new Series of Grand Seiko GMT watches (4 references: Shunbun-SBGJ251, Shōsho-SBGJ249, Kanro-SBGE271 and – Toji – SBGE269) designed to celebrate the ever-changing season. A unique dial for each seasonal phase or sekki based on its in house calibre 9S86.

2.    Grand Seiko Heritage Collection with a new Spring Drive Chronograph that perfectly embodies the founder’s vision.

3.    Grand Seiko masterpiece collection with Spring Drive 8 Day Jewelry Watch with platinum cased Spring Drive watch whose design took inspiration from the winter mornings in the Shinshu region which is home to the Micro Artist Studio. This watch is designed to celebrate the 140th anniversary of the company’s establishment.
